SMP: a giant lightbox sign on a high-rise wall

For SMP we manufactured and installed a giant flame-shaped lightbox sign, designed specifically to be mounted on a very high wall. At that scale, the illuminated sign has to be readable from far away and the structure has to carry its own weight and the wind with complete safety.

A contour-cut lightbox like this one carries the LED lighting inside, so the whole symbol lights up at night and keeps its color by day. The shape follows the outline of the logo instead of boxing it in a rectangle, which gives it far more presence.

The challenge of this project was as much in the manufacturing as in the high-rise installation: anchoring, rigging and safety, so the piece stays firm and visible for years.
